L’Occitane Flagship

Studio X was appointed by L’Occitane to create a next generation flagship store that could help them refresh the experience, focus the stores market position and target a more youthful Chinese customer. A key focus for the project was to create a much more experiential store environment, that isn’t overtly sales driven, and allows customers to better understand the ingredients, the brand heritage and to experience the product first hand.

Studio X were also tasked with challenging the way in which L'Occitane categorise and zone product. The strategy they were adopting focused solely on an ingredient-first approach, meaning that lavender lip balm and shea butter lip balm were located in two different locations within the store. We helped L'Occitane to develop a new strategy that catered for the product-led customer journey as well as respecting the ingredient-led journey and the strategy of the brand as a whole.

Studio X have also been appointed to design L’Occitane’s new gift box packaging including the creation of a new custom brand pattern.

Our main objective is to improve the performance of our clients businesses by creating exciting, emotive spaces that have high utility and this project epitomises this approach.
