Eastern Pacific Shipping is one of the largest privately-owned ship management companies in the world, with a 60-year track record, a managed fleet of over 35 million DWT, and a deep commitment to decarbonisation and the green transition of global shipping. When the opportunity arose to expand their presence at Millenia Tower in Singapore, Studio X was appointed to consolidate their headquarters into a single, purpose-built workplace environment.
The brief was to create a space that genuinely reflected the culture of the business — a company defined by operational discipline, physical competitiveness, and a drive to outperform. EPS sponsors elite sporting teams including Movistar Team and Atlético Madrid, and runs a biennial company-wide endurance challenge in which its global workforce collectively covers hundreds of thousands of kilometres on foot and by bike. This is not a business that treats wellness as a line item. It is embedded in how they operate.
Studio X developed the concept from beginning to end and managed overall site delivery across an eight-month programme, working closely with the client throughout. The result is a workplace that strengthens internal culture, supports staff wellbeing, and presents a clear, disciplined identity to both employees and external stakeholders.
From a bare shell, we introduced open working floors, meeting rooms, staff development facilities, a professional-grade cycling training suite, and a gallery of sporting brands reflecting EPS’s commitment to competitive sport.

A collection of images documenting the completed fit-out across the working floors, cycling studio, rotunda gallery, training room, and specialist spaces.

(Approach)The workspace had to feel like the company — disciplined, ambitious, built to perform. Every design decision connects the space back to how the business operates.

The cycling studio is elevated above the gym floor with storage integrated below. Maps of legendary climbs sit on the windows, framing the Singapore skyline behind the gradient profiles of Ventoux and Galibier.

Set within the 270-degree window bay on the 37th floor, the gym is anchored by an artificial skylight that runs down the centre of the ceiling. Using nano-optical technology to replicate the spectral qualities of natural sunlight, the skylight casts realistic directional light onto the gym floor and transitions seamlessly through morning, daytime and evening cycles.
Combined with panoramic views across Singapore, the effect transforms what could have been a utilitarian fitness room into a space that genuinely elevates mood and energy — a place the team wants to be in, not just pass through.
The workplace is organised around a central rotunda — a gallery of sporting brands that connects the two primary office zones, the gym, and the changing facilities.

A record of the project as it developed on site, capturing key moments as the design took shape.

The gym space takes shape, with the artificial skylight housing being installed along the centre of the ceiling.

Studio X quickly understood the culture of our business and translated it into a workplace that genuinely reflects who we are.
Their approach went far beyond decoration — combining strong design thinking with a pragmatic understanding of how a global firm operates.
